No battle can be won by neglecting the child
Teachers and principals in Catholic schools are ready to start teaching children any day the government specifies after October 25, the Catholic Church in Sri Lanka said yesterday.
“Teachers and principals of Catholic schools will resume work any day specified by the government in line with the decision made by Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith and the Catholic Bishops Conference, National Director of Catholic Schools Rev. Fr. Gemunu Dias said yesterday.
“Catholics always believe that the priority in the life of a teacher is the child and that no battle can be won by neglecting the child who is entrusted in our care.at this moment we request all Catholic teachers and principals to continue with the teaching activities,” Rev. Fr. Dias said.
“Nevertheless the battle to win the salary anomalies and other privileges will continue,” he added.
