SENIOR CITIZENS SCRABBLE TOURNAMENT

The Senior citizens scrabble tournament will be held on the 30th April at the Hilton Hotel from 8am to 6pm. It is open to all those over 55 and will be played in two categories, the Championship category and the intermediate catgory [A and B group] Players who are experts at the game will be in the A category and others in the B group. Scrabble is said to be one of the best games to play to keep one’s brain active, to keep Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia away and a way of socialising and making friends which we all need as senior citizens. The dictionary to be used will be the Collins Official Words, 2021. The entry fee is Rs 1,500 and there will be teatime snacks provided by the hotel. This will be a good chance for scrabble playing senior citizens to have a fun day out, renewing old friendships and making new ones.
