BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Avinda assisted by Anjali hosted a celebration of his daughter Thisakya’s 16th birthday at the Boulevard recently. The birthday girl and the young ones sat at a special table decorated with gold balloons and a large inflated 16 above the table. We older ones of two generations were at two other tables as Avinda comes from a large family.

Little Nireka as usual was the most enthusiastic of the young ones, the others indulging her whims. It was good to hear that she is rowing for the Natonals. Thiskaya’s sister Saranaya, Dileth, Taniishq and the other youngsters had fun as they always do and it’s a joy to watch them . The teens are invaraiably the best part of life, absolutely free of responsibility.

The world we live in seems like it is cracking in pieces, so it’s good to see the enthusiasm of youth when age has somehow diminished my zest for life. It was a celebration which Thisakya will always remember with Lontra and his staff going all out to please us with a wide array of delicious food and excellent smiling service.
