BURNT SUGAR PUDDING

INGREDIENTS

● 8Ozs Brown Sugar

● ½ Pt Boiling Water

● 3 Thick Slices Stale Bread

● Pinch Salt

● ½ Tsp Vanilla

● ¾ Pt Hot milk

● 3 Eggs Well Beaten

● Pinch of Nutmeg

METHOD

Melt sugar in a thick pan till very dark brown, then add boiling water and simmer till thick. Cut bread into cubes. Butter dish and lay bread on bottom of dish. Add salt and vanilla to hot milk and pour very slowly over beaten eggs. Pour caramel over bread then add egg milk mixture and top with grated nutmeg. Stand dish in a pan of hot water and bake for 30 minutes.
