I DREAM A WORLD

I read this poem by Langston Hughes recently and thought the words were ideal for this particular time as our nation has just celebrated the

75th anniversary of our Independence. It is entitled

‘ I Dream a World’ I dream a world where man no other man will scorn. Where love will bless the earth

And peace its paths adorn. I dream a world Where all will know sweet freedoms’s way. Where greed no longer saps the soul Nor avarice lights our day. A world I dream where black or white, whatever race you be

Will share the bounties of the earth . And every man is free.

Where wretchedness will hang its head and joy, like a pearl

Attend the needs of all mankindof such I dream, my world’.

We all want the best for our country, we want it to be a Paradise again. Peace, Unity, Permanent reconciliation. Equal rights for all citizens irrespective of race or religion . Progress and development. The best in education and nutrition for our children, our best investment for the future. They are the citizens of tomorrow. We should all strive to make our dreams for our beloved nation become a reality.
