Five Sri Lankans taste success

Five Sri Lankans – three in the girls’ category and two in the boys’ – tasted success at the ITF Junior Tennis Week 2 tennis tournament by winning their first-round matches played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo.

The three winners in the girls’ category all came out victorious by two sets to nil, with Saajida Razick overcoming Vanshika Maria Vaiz of India, Dinara de Silva getting the better of Ivanka Samarasinghe of USA and Dinethya Dharmaratne defeating Devanshi Gohil of India.

In the boys’ category Zaidh

Zihar and Thilina Dissanayake coasted to easy wins against Srivtsav Reddy of India and Abdul Rais of Malaysia.

The tournament will be continued today.
