Indo-lanka peace accord

1987 - The Indo-lanka Peace Accord was signed in Colombo on July 29, 1987 between Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Sri Lankan President, J.R. Jayawardene. The accord was made in expectation of resolving the Sri Lankan Civil War. Among the concessions made in the accord, Colombo agreed to a devolution of power to the provinces.
