Masters Basketball Championships commence today

The Masters Basketball Championship 2023 will commence this weekend on February 4 and 5 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium commencing at 8:00 a.m. each day.

A total of 62 teams (49 men and 13 women) will be vying for honours in this tournament for veterans which will continue on February 10, 11 and 12. Gaja Sports is sponsoring this tournament conducted by Masters Basketball Sri Lanka for the second time.

The number of participating teams has doubled from 32 in 2021 following the success of the last Masters Basketball Championship. A total of 46 matches have been scheduled on the Independence Day weekend. This tournament is held for the age group of 30+, 35+, 40+, 45+, 50+ and 55+ for men and 30+, 35+, 40+, 45+, 50+ for women.
