Lion Flag free with today’s Daily Mirror

An image of the lion flag hoisted by Prime Minister D.S. Senanayake at the first Independence day in 1948, stylized on the royal banner of the last King of Lanka Sri Wickrema Rajasinghe will be issued free with today’s Daily Mirror. The Royal Banner was taken by the British to UK and was later discovered by press magnate and patriot D.R. Wijewardene and freedom fighter E.W. Perera.
