Mahamaya shine at School Games Carom Tournament

Mahamaya Girls’ College Nugegoda won the Under-17 and Under-18 titles at the 2022 All-island School Games Carom Tournament, conducted by the Ministry of Education, and held in Embilipitiya.

Mahamaya completed a grand double by defeating Hindu College Kokkuvil in the Girls’ Under-17 Tournament final and they had the better of Anula BV Nugegoda in the Girls’ Under-20 Tournament final.

Minuwangate MV Mahawa and Viharamaha Devi BMV Badulla took third place in the Girls’ Under17 and Girls’ Under-20 Tournament respectively. Meanwhile, St. Sylvester’s College Kandy and Sri Gnanodaya MMV Wariyapola won the Boys’ Under-17 and Boys’ Under-20 Tournament respectively.

The Sylvestrians beat Sri Gnanodaya MMV in the Boys’ Under-17 Tournament final while Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda secured third place. In the Boys’ Under-20 Tournament final, Sri Gnanodaya MMV defeated Wayamba Royal College Kurunegala and St. Sylvester’s College secured third place.
