Diyawadana Nilame denies report on inability of paying electricity bill of the Maligawa

● After raising the electricity bills issue, he received a bill for Rs 2.7 million

While rejecting reports circulating on social media, Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela of the Sri Dalada Maligawa stated that the electricity bill received for the Sri Dalada Maligawa was paid using a facility provided by the chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL).

He told the Daily Mirror that after raising the electricity bills issue, he received a bill for Rs 2.7 million.

“We have not received any electricity bill before for the Sri Dalada Maligawa and this was the first time we received such a huge bill,” he said.

However, after we discussed the matter with the PUCSL chairman. He made some arrangements to pay the bill. After that, we paid Rs. 1.3 million to settle the bill, He added.
