Final netball selection trials on July 7 01

The netball selection committee has decided that the final selection for the national netball squad will be held on July 7 at 9.00 a.m. at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.

The 18-member national netball pool is to be pruned to 12 to select the final squad.

The Sri Lanka netball squad is being chosen for the 12th Asian Senior Netball Championship 2022 to be held from September 4 to 11 in Singapore.

Conducted by the Asian Netball Federation, 11 countries are taking part in the competition. Meanwhile, Tharjini Sivalingam who is based in Australia will not be available for the selections and has requested the federation to allow her to travel directly to Singapore for the event. The request has been made through the coach to the National Selection Committee and the Netball Federation.

However, the national selection committee has decided that everyone should participate in the final selection trial if they hope to represent Sri Lanka.
