Charana appointed as NAMAL CEO

National Asset Management Limited (NAMAL) has appointed Charana Jayasuriya as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective from January 24, 2022.

Prior to his appointment as CEO, Jayasuriya was Chief Operating Officer of NAMAL. He counts over 20 years experience in the capital markets of Sri Lanka and in the United Kingdom in asset management, investment banking and financial regulation. Prior to joining NAMAL, Jayasuriya was a Fund Manager for Aegis Fund Management (Pvt.) Ltd, managing funds for some of the largest institutional investors in Sri Lanka.

Jayasuriya holds an LLB (Hons) Law and LLM in Banking and Finance Law from University College London and has completed the Advanced Asset Management Programme at INSEAD and the Oxford Fintech Programme from the Said Business School, University of Oxford.

NAMAL is Sri Lanka’s pioneer unit trust management company and has been successfully managing funds since 1991.
