Mahamana resigns from Technical Advisory Committee
Will continue assisting the TAC, Minister says
Former national cricketer Roshan Mahanama has resigned from the Technical Advisory Committee to Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa, citing personal reasons.
Mahanama was appointed as a member of the committee last February, which is headed by Aravinda de Silva and also includes Kumar Sangakkara and Muttiah Muralitharan.
“It was a personal decision, and when he took up the role (in February) he mentioned that he could only serve up to a certain point,” Minister Rajapaksa said.
“Despite resigning he has said he will continue to work with the committee until whatever decisions they have taken up to now are implemented.”
Among the many recommendations made by the advisory committee was the appointment of Tom Moody as the Director of Cricket at Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and the implementation of the National Super League along with SLC.
