It is not a sabotage, only a natural occurrence: CEB workers’ Union

The islandwide power outage is not the result of sabotage, but only a natural occurrence, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Workers’ Union said. They said two coal power plants in Norochcholai had tripped off and all power generations had come to a standstill.

However, one coal power plant was under repair.

“The electricity generators at Sapugaskanda were also tripped off. The fuel association of the CEB is administering the situation.,” they said. “The whole power supply system in the country has come to a standstill. The whole power generation system in the country is not working now,” the union added.
