Two MPS stuck in Parliament elevator

● MPS Thushara Indunil Amarasena and Lalith Ellawala were stuck for 15 minutes

Two MPS were stuck inside an elevator at the Parliamentary complex during the power cut yesterday.

The two MPS Thushara Indunil Amarasena and Lalith Ellawala were stuck for 15 minutes when the lift came to a standstill as a result of the power failure. Parliament sources said the two MPS made use of the emergency intercom phone fixed in the lift to inform the relevant authorities.

Some of the workers in the House rushed in and helped the MPS out.

This was the second time the lifts in Parliament came to a standstill as a similar incident occurred in 2017 when few MPS from the then Opposition were in it.
