Price control

Everybody now seems to have become specialists in this field, without using common sense.

The government members are on the defensive and the opposition are on the offensive; both conveniently ignoring the factual ground situation.

No government can ever impose price controls on anything being imported other than to look into the local costs and that too in the case of government insitutions only.

When we are importing goods from abroad can we determine a price? The price is determined by the foreign suppliers and if we don’t like the price bad luck!

In this scenario can the opposition politicos state how the government can impose price controls on fuel, gas milk powder, flour and imported items?

With the issue of gas, imported by litro gas, can we have a breakdown of the costs locally, like administrative costs, to ensure luxuries are enjoyed and inefficiencies of the organisation and its running is not passed on unfairly to the consumer by way of price.

I further suggest that all state organisations should be audited to ensure that there are no unfair charges or losses are recovered from the consumer. The chairman and board members should be personally held liable if there are such elements added to price?
