Dr. Prasanna Gunasena resigns as SPC Chairman?

He had resigned from the post citing health and personal reasons

Chairman of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation (SPC), Dr. Prasanna Gunasena has reportedly tendered his resignation. Informed sources told Daily Mirror that Dr. Gunasena had handed over the letter of resignation to the President and it was yet to be confirmed whether the President had accepted the letter or not.

Dr. Gunasena is a renowned Neurosurgeon and had rendered a dedicated service in taking the lead to procure the COVID-19 vaccines to Sri Lanka

According to sources, he had resigned from the post citing health and personal reasons.

Dr. Gunasena is a renowned Neurosurgeon and had rendered a dedicated service in taking the lead to procure the COVID-19 vaccines to Sri Lanka during the last few months in his capacity as the SPC Chairman.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that SPC Managing Director Lalith Jayakody, has also decided to resign from his post.
