What ails the country?

It seems that no political party is thinking beyond party politics and self in this dire situation the country now find itself. Has anybody really thought of the country and the majority of the poor people and how to alleviate the everyday suffering of the majority? One party proposes something beneficial and all parties are daggers drawn against, just because the proposals were not from their side!

Mr. Presdent we still have not lost the confidence we placed in you about two years ago. You are the only hope to unite and develop this country to get it out of this morass we have been placed by years of party politics.

How do we come out of this? No single party can ever get us out of this and put us on the road to sanity and fairness and the resultant peaceful atmosphere to enable real economic development to take place.

It is within your power to call for a government of national unity, where you can encompass the political as well as knowledgeable and experienced professionals to direct the government and its organizations without fear and favour to reap the wealth of this country for all and not the favoured few. These are radical measures when one wants to work for the country and not self. You have enjoyed power, your family is able to look after itself and you have no cause to keep earning and earning for eternity.

Please discuss with the reasonable members of parliament the idea of a national unity government, where all current ministers, state ministers, deputy ministers and parliamentary committees will be suspended for a period of at least 10 years. It goes without saying that all payments also will be stopped.

All provincial organizations too will be on hold and the savings will be immense

Appoint 20 ministers across the party affiliations, paying special attention to education, health, development, economic development, foreign affairs and national integration among others. The selected specialists should be on the advisory panels for each ministry according to their specialty not exceeding 5 who will be empowered to chart the directions that should be taken. No minister or advisory board member should be permitted to bring relatives or friends into this new organization. Any whiff of corruption should be investigated within one week and action taken.

Please appoint Ministers who are below 60 years preferably within the 45/50 range, since they will have the current knowledge and ability to take prompt action. Can we continue to pay pooja to democracy and let us all be taken ceremoniously to the KANATTA very quickly!
