Trinity complete sixth win this season

Trinity College Kandy scored a convincing 10-wicket win over Devapathiraja College in their Under 19 Inter School cricket encounter which concluded at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy yesterday.

This was their sixth win this season, having earlier beaten Dharmaraja College, Gurukula MV, Ananda College and Royal College twice.

The highlight of the game was a fine century by Trinity wicket-keeper Dinusha Peiris, who stroked an elegant century inclusive of eight boundaries and three huge sixes which helped Trinity pile up a mammoth 297 in their first innings.

The visitors were shot out for 151 and 162 in their two innings.

It was once again the Trinity spin duo of Dinuka Tennekoon (8) and Tharana Wimaladharama (5) who ripped through the Devapathiraja batting line-up taking 13 wickets between them in the 20 wickets to fall.
