HNB’S Singithi Giftober returns bigger and better this October!

■ Children’s Day events organized at 35 branches across the country, inviting over 3,000 children ■ Attractive gift/vouchers of up to Rs. 100,000

Sri Lanka’s leading private bank, and fondly known as a kid’s favourite, HNB once again brings back its highly anticipated Children’s day festivities and the Singithi Giftober promotions this year in honour and celebration of the World Children’s Day.

Following a hiatus in the celebrations at customer centers due to Covid-19, the bank is now ready to bring back their most exciting event. HNB has invited over 3,000 children to visit any of the 35 customer centers on the 01st of October to celebrate their special day with exciting games, programmes, competitions and much more.

Commenting on the festivities, HNB Chief Manager/head of Deposits, Viranga Gamage shared “We at HNB are always excited when October comes up because we know we get to celebrate our priceless treasures – our children. Celebrating the future of an entire nation must not be a simple feat, which is why HNB always ensures that it goes above and beyond in making the leaders of tomorrow, happy today.”

“The Children’s day festivities are as special to us as it is to the children. In addition to seeing our children have a great time participating, challenging themselves, co-operating with each other and unlocking talents with us by their side, we are also able to inculcate a habit of savings from a very young age. With our children’s day celebrations at the customer centers, children are able to get first-hand experience of how savings in a bank happens. We have an equally excited team on ground on the day of the event to hold the children by their hands and teach them little things about savings and rewards while they participate in the programmes of the day. We warmly welcome all parents to bring their little ones, teenagers and families to join us as we celebrate their future together.”

Gamage further went on to say that, “Both parents and their children must understand that saving is both a rewarding skill and an excellent habit, and must begin conveying its importance sooner rather than later. This is also one of the main reasons why our children’s day festivities and the Giftober campaigns are of utmost importance to us.”

The Giftober campaign is an iconic initiative taken by HNB to encourage savings among children within a set timeframe in order to be rewarded. Running for 60 days starting from the 30th of September, the Giftober campaign encourages young ones to begin saving or increase their deposits within the period to take home exciting gifts. HNB will offer gifts and vouchers to children with a savings deposit of over Rs. 1,000 and up to Rs. 1.5 Million during the promotion period.

The bank has also organized an online art competition which is to begin on 1st October 2022 to encourage creativity and artistic talents among children. Children in the age groups of 04 to 06 years, 07 to 12 years and 13 to 16 years are invited to upload their paintings in the theme “Future Sri Lanka” done in A4 white papers to HNB Facebook page. Parents could obtain more details of the art competition from bank’s official Facebook page. Promising young artists will be selected and awarded with cash gifts. Last date to submit paintings is 31st October 2022.

Additionally, the Till-to-till promotion will also be active during the month of October, as the bank encourages little ones to walk into any of our customer centers with the money collected in any till their tills to open a savings account or deposit their savings into their existing Singithi account and receive a new and iconic Jumbo till.

While focusing on younger children, HNB has also prioritized inculcating the habit of savings and financial literacy among teenagers. Teenplus is a savings scheme that is tailored to fit this purpose, where a child can take their first steps into financial freedom with the support of a stable bank.

Elaborating further on financial decision making among children, especially teenagers, Viranga Gamage commented on HNB’S network of school units that help children experience banking while learning. “Our school units which have been active despite all the economic turmoil. Seeing these units headed by students who guide fellow students towards the habit of savings has been refreshing, and we are working to provide the best experience for them. The Giftober campaign applies to these units as well, and we look forward to seeing them at our children’s day festivities.”
