Gateway Kandy overcome Trinity to win Central Province Basketball Championship

Gateway College Kandy beat Trinity College Kandy at the Central Province final of the Under- 20 National Schools Basketball tournament that was held recently at the University indoor court in Peradeniya.

The cagers of Gateway fought to the very end to be victorious with a narrow margin of 56–50. Gateway Kandy beat St. Sylvester’s College comfortably in the semi- final with a score of 42–17.

Trinity overcame Gateway at the Under-17 final with a score of 31–11. Under-20 Girls championship was won by Mayamaya College by beating Hillwood College at the final. Gateway Kandy secured the second Runnerup position by defeating Colombo International School (Kandy).
