Matheesha steers Kurunegala Zone 2

A fine knock of 74 by Matheesha Weerasinghe paved the way for Kurunegala Zone 2 to record a comfortable 96 runs win over Jaffna District in the Under 19 Youth League cricket tournament played at the Rangiri Dambulla Stadium.

Matheesha’s knock helped Kurunegala Zone 2 taking first lease of the wicket to make a score of 292 for 8 in a match curtailed to 46 overs and Jaffna District in their turn was able to muster a score of only 186 runs despite a fighting century by Kuganeswaran Karishan.

In the other matches that were played saw Badulla District along with Colombo South Zone 2, Kurunegala Zone 1 and Matara District coming out victorious.
