Galoya Vithanage wins Industrial Excellence Gold Award

Galoya Vithanage, one of the leading local food manufacturers in Sri Lanka, won the Gold Award in the Dairy and associated products category at the Industry Excellence Awards Ceremony organised by the Industrial Development Board (IDB).

The Managing Director of the company K.B. Anura Manoj received the award at the ceremony held at Waters’ Edge under the patronage of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Galoya Vithanage production and distribution company which was started by one employee in 1993, currently has a monthly production capacity of 25,000 liters of milk and has employed 45 workers in the production and distribution process.

The company produces high quality yoghurt, drinking yoghurt, curd, watalappan and jelly yoghurt from fresh milk obtained from healthy cows in Digamadulla.

At present, Galoya Vithanage company is making a significant investment for the future by constructing a factory that can produce 50,000 yoghurts per day at the Navagampura Industrial Estate in Ampara district, which

is expected to create employment opportunities for 100 people.“
