21A to be discussed among parties before final draft: Ranil

The cabinet has decided to allow an all party discussion on the 21st amendment to the constitution on Friday before the final draft is prepared, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said yesterday.

“Following a meeting with the Constitution Amendment drafting committee held this evening at the Prime Minister’s office, the 21st Amendment to the Constitution was presented to the Cabinet.the Cabinet took the decision to distribute copies of the amendment amongst the Parliament Party Leaders for their observations. subsequently it will be discussed on Friday (27).After which the amendment will be sent back to Cabinet for final approval, the Prime Minister said through a video statement.
