Imran Khan praises India over fuel price cuts

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan praised India, Sunday for buying discounted oil from Russia despite “pressure from the US”, saying his government was also working to achieve the same with the help of an independent foreign policy.

“Despite being part of the Quad, India sustained pressure from the US and bought discounted Russian oil to provide relief to the masses. This is what our govt was working to achieve with the help of an independent foreign policy,” the Pakistan Tehreeke-insafleader wrote on Twitter.

On Saturday, the price of petrol in India was slashed by INR 9.5 per litre and diesel by INR 7 per litre after the central government cut excise duty on fuel.
