Members accused the officers attached to CMC of delaying the programme Some members began a Sathyagraha calling for action against the officers

Colombo Mayor Mrs. Rosy Senanayake yesterday called for a dialogue between the Municipal Treasurer and the Commissioner to settle the dry ration distribution issue, where the members accused the officers attached to CMC of delaying the programme to assist poor city dwellers who are affected by the quarantine curfew.

Mrs. Senanayake rushed to the municipal grounds when some members began a Sathyagraha calling for action against the officers.

“The issue has to be settled in an amicable manner through a dialogue without creating trouble. Therefore I request the CMC members to have a dialogue with the relevant officers and settle the issue,” she said. UPFA member of the Council Tony Ramzi said he had been requesting that CMC should support the needy people in the city who have been affected by quarantine curfew.“we have been requesting that this project should get off the ground but it never did,” he said.
