EMPLOYMENT OF UNDER AGE CHILDREN

Recent incidents have brought to the surface issues which have been permitted to continue unabated through many decades. Most of us are deeply concerned about the employment of under age children. It’s bad enough that some employ them but infinitely worse and an unforgiveable offence when they are badly treated and unprotected by their employers. Something has to be done without delay to stop these young girls and boys being employed. Probably, the cause for parents allowing this is for reasons of poverty beyond their control and debts which they have incurred due to their circumstances. Young girls even over 18 who are employed must be protected by their employers, who must ensure that they sleep in a safe place, are not sent out alone and keep a watchful, caring eye on them. They must have food which is nutritious, kept clean, taught good habits as if she was one’s own child. It’s so sad to hear of cases of abuse, rape etc of young girls, who have no escape from their perpetrators. This is a problems that is of concern to us all, especially parents and grandparents and we must do what we can to protect these innocent victims of circumstance.
