Vijitha Herath assumes duties as Sri Lanka Insurance Chairman

Renowned engineering professional Eng. Vijitha Herath assumed duties as Chairman of state-owned Sri Lanka Insurance, yesterday.

Prior to being appointed to the current rank, Herath served as Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board since 2019.

He also serves as Chairman of the Sri Lanka Podujana Engineers Front, a leading engineering body with more than 5000 members.

Having started his own successful construction company in Sri Lanka in 2012, Herath’s corporate experience spans across local and overseas organisations in the field of engineering.

He possesses a BSC. degree in Engineering from the University of Peradeniya. Herath completed his primary and secondary education at Mawathagama Central College and Maliyadewa College, Kurunegala.
