SLC Invitational T20 League from August 12

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has finalised arrangements to conduct an Invitational T20 League cricket tournament which will be worked off from August 12 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

The tournament will see the participation of national and first class cricketers and is being conducted in preparation for the forthcoming South Africa tour of Sri Lanka and the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

Four teams namely Blues, Reds, Greens and Greys comprising of 15 players in each team are billed to participate and each team will play six matches in the initial stages with the top two teams meeting in final to be played on August 24.

The tournament will give much needed match practice to the players ahead of their upcoming assignments and also provide a chance for players who did not get an opportunity to represent the national team in the recently concluded England and India series to push their case for selection.
