Roy-tho given green light

The Ministry of Health has given the green light for the traditional big match between Royal College and S. Thomas’ College to go ahead amid concerns of Covid-19.

Dr. Asela Gunawardena – Director General of Health Services in a letter given the approval for the Battle of the Blues set to be worked off from September 9 to 11.\

“Approval is hereby granted to conduct ‘Big Match’ Cricket Encounter on 9, 10 and 11 September,” the letter reads.

However, the Ministry of Health has made sure no spectators would be allowed inside the stadiums during the game.

“The safety and health of the players and officials should be the highest priority and no spectators are allowed when conducting the three-day event” the letter claims.
