“Cash back” at supermarkets

In the UK, “cash back” commonly means that how much cash you need to the hand along with groceries at pay out counter in Supermarkets and total to be debited to the credit or debit card presented for the payment. But in Sri Lanka,“cash back” means discounts you get from special offers for items at supermarkets pay out counters. Good news is that now one popular supermarket chain has formulated the “cash back” system as in the UK exclusively for customers of the Bank that is run by that supermarket chain to those who carry their credit/debit cards - a great boon to customers during Covid days. If this system can be executed by that particular Bank for its customers, why other banks in SL cannot offer this service for the benefit of their clientele is a question.
